I have a skeeter zx185 bass boat that I need anchors for. I have been fishing for Bluecats more than bass and need to anchor up to fish sometimes. Which anchors should I get for my application? My home lake is Lewisville with mud and sand bottom. I have been looking at getting a 15 lb river anchor with a 6' chain and 100ft rope paired with a 10 lb mushroom/no chain/100ft rope. What do you guys think? What do y'all use on your bass boats and why?

I like the Danforth and Fortress style anchors. They are relatively light weight and hold very well in sand or mud bottoms.

I would also like to be able to store them in aft compartment so compact size is a plus.

He means because the anchor mode works so good on the Xi5. The blues should be shallow so shallow water anchors would work great until winter. Go buy a couple long pieces of conduit and beat them into the ground w/ a small sledge hammer. You can put a PVC tee over the conduit and then tie to your boat to prevent the conduit from scratching you boat. If you insist on traditional anchors. Box anchors w/ 6' of chain and 3:1 ratio of rope will hold rock solid.
