During spring and summer I use a 6' or 7' cheaper net with 1 lb lead, in the fall and winter I use the high end nets with 1.5, I tend to to hang up more in shallows so the cheaper ones do the job for ten foot and less, 3/4 pounds will work but I still use a minimum of 1 lb just because I feel more comfortable throwing the slightly heavier weight

Sorry to be that guy, but isn't anything over 7' illegal in texas on freshwater?

I love the nets from the nylon net company... but it appears they have disappeared frown Guess I better stay on top of repairs on mine~!
