Howdy,

I was just trying to get some different ideas for storing my depth finders. I've been trying to search for different cases or bags made specifically for storing the units.

For those who take their electronics off of their boat after each trip, what are y'all using?

Thanks!

I take my electronics off the boat every trip and put the covers on them. I have a tote bag for my electronics that they go in, nothing special. Been doing it this way since 2001 on every set of electronics I have owned. Never had an issue.

Pelican storage boxes, put in a moisture bag. Electronics don't like moisture.

Northern Tool has hard cases with the eggshell inserts for cheap, mine holds 2 998's easily.

I have been using a laptop soft case for my bird. It fits perfectly and I have had it for the last 5+ years.

I put mine in a big Rubbermaid tub. I clean them with sprawaway first. Wrap em each in towels, then toss em in. On fishing boat day, they are clean and really to go.

I'm working with Carlos on having some double covers made for my Helix units. I have them stacked on the console and bow. They fit so tightly against each other that regular covers will not work.

Thanks for the ideas.

I like the looks of the sonar sock. Will it work if I have the plate and ball for the ram mount mounted on my 998? My other 958 isn't ram mounted so I know that one will work.

I have two 998s, both with Ram mounts. I put them in Plano cases. I think they are double pistol cases. Fit nicely and protect them well.

Yep, I used to have a Ram mount for my 1199 and never had to take it off the ram mount plate, just loosen the ram mount and take it off and put the cover on with, it fits with the Humminbird sun cove on as well

I have two sonar socks Carlos made to match the pin stripe color on my boat. Perfect!
