I have been checking wind conditions for this coming weekend. Saturday is the lowest reading showing wind at a peak of 9 mph down in Granbury. I watch this location reading as it is relatively near Wheeler Branch where I will likely go.

It also shows to be a day with a high of 66 degrees, some cloud cover.

It forecasted tiny precipitation in the early AM hours a few days ago, not now.

Sunday will be twice as windy, so Saturday will be a good bet for most area lakes and rivers.

Last Sunday was okay early, rough later on as the day went along.

LMBs seemed to be moving back into the shallows but we are likely still a few degrees away from it really turning on out there. I lost two fish owing to a poorly rigged fat ika. Unless the hook is the right size and rigged just right, that little chunky bait doesn't squish down enough for the hook to easily penetrate the mouth. I did catch one back in a cove on the same bait, a little fat gravid female likely under 2 lbs. Pic below.

Have fun, Bert!

Well, dang it! I checked the wind forecast each day and they now have higher winds for Saturday. I'll check Friday as that will be the best gauge to wind conditions, just one day removed.

This might have me move over to Cedar Lake in Cleburne State Park. I need to fish that lake some time!
