Lots of people look at it with much disdain just like some do toward noodling or hillbilly hand fishing.

I like to fish with pool noodle flagging jugs myself. Lots of fun and really no different than a big boat that has a dozen rods out drifting. Some people think that everybody that uses them just go off and leave them floating around forever. That's totally false but you ain't gonna change some peoples minds. It's a legal means to fish and that's all that counts.

I've done it and it can be a blast not to mention quite productive.

I do it from a kayak using pool noodle/PVC rigs.

Usually drop around 10 in the shallows and watch them as I pole fish etc.

Many times I have fish on the first few before setting out my last few so it can get busy even with just a few rigs out.

I mostly catch eating size channel cat with an occasional 7ish pounder.

Can be set for an evening fish fry pretty quick.

We set 7 out a week ago for less than 24 hours. More than enough for a neighborhood fish fry. Shad and weenies for bait

I also find it to be a fun way to fish. I do it from my kayak, and chasing down a jug is a blast. I don't even keep catfish, but I like catching them.

I like to use clorox jugs. I find them easier to see. Eyes are not as good as they used to be.

I enjoy putting them out then pole fishing, even if you don't catch any on your poles you have a good chance of catching at least 1 on your jugs. I use live perch and cut perch.

I enjoy using them this time of year. Set out a few and then go crappie fishing. These guys setting them out in a kayak, I have total respect for ya'll. I've caught a few big blues and flatheads that was hard to get into my 17' boat. To do that in a kayak, that has to be a great sport and a lot of fun. thumb

I use a 20oz GATORADE BOTTLE painted white with enough weight inside to make it flag. It's a good way to tell where the fish are. And then fish that spot
