Crappie are pretty thick in the river and Big Creek right now. They come in right after the sandies, but be careful getting in there. Main lake April-Aug bite is super tough though.

Do you have any pointers on where to go DWMoore? I live in Teague and have been trying to find the crappie. Thought about going to fort Parker and getting in the river. Any suggestions

If you get in the river and go all the way to the CRGrounds you will find them usually .Mexia is pretty easy dipping the reeds .Spawing crappie on Stone usually come in at night I hate fishin at night and especially in all the stumps bad combo.Darrell
