Down loaded maps vs. map card do really need card

I haven't added anything to mine, has great map loaded for me..

haven't realy used it that much just courious.

The map card just gives you satellite imagery of around the lake and a few different views... It doesn't necessarily make the counters any different or better as far as I can tell.

I thought the 93SV came with the Garmin Map Card ?

The 93SV comes with Garmins mapping software built in. You get one free update within 1 year of purchase that you load from their website onto an SD card & then into your unit. The units also take most other aftermarket mapping cards. The mapping on my unit is incredible on Lake Fork & Martin Creek, It gives you 1 ft. depth contours on these two Lakes. My year will be up in June, so i am waiting till then to do my update hoping they have had there mapping boat out on a few more of my east Texas lakes

Yes I know it's an expensive add on.

they have an after market Garmin sd. After I used mine Ididnt see a need.
