There is a way to tell by the tongue patches, but they sure look like hybrids with being large and many broken stripes.

I'm counting 6, possibly 7 hybrids. Amiright?

I need to know for reference myself, since I'm new at this...

Truthfully, it can be very difficult to tell on some fish. There are hybrids with very straight stripes, and there are sandies with lots of broken lines. When in doubt, throw it back. Some tooth patches even make you go, wtf?

Note: For hybrids, all characteristics should be considered in combination, as characteristics in individual fish may vary.
A: Stripes distinct, usually broken, several extend to tail
B: Body deep, more than 1/3 length
C: Has two tooth patches near the midline towards the back of the tongue. Tooth patches may be distinct or close together.

Straight from the TP&W website. Can't go of the stripes alone.

I keep these pages bookmarked on my phone for fast reference to detail difference and limits. I think it will help. I'm pretty sure a hybrid will snap my light line though unless I play him out.

Those guides are good, but those are best case scenario drawings. Here's a tooth patch that could trip someone up.

That's from a thread on here last year. It was a hybrid with few broken lines. It was huge which made it obvious, but at a smaller size, someone could have easily mistaken it. Just be careful.

I would see that as two rows of patch, close to a heart like sandbass but the thin line between tells me they were supposed to have seperation.

You can almost see a faint thin line running through.
