Has anyone checked out the East Fork between Lavon and RH? I'd really like to put in at Hwy 78 and try my hand at it again.

I believe I'm going to find out this morning. At least it will be protected from the wind.

Can you still put in at Hwy. 78 with the new highway?

FC, I could have put in but I didn't for 2 reasons. I didn't bring a cart, and there were 2 large pieces of equipment moving in the area all the time I was there. I think launching on the east side of the river will be easy. I'm ready to try it, but it will be a few weeks now.

I checked it out about a month ago. I paddled up from the mouth at Ray Hubbard. I didn't find anything that day. But it was my first time there. I think if the fish have moved in there they will be up closer to 78. I only made it about half way to 78 and called it a day.

I may try to put in this weekend near 78 if the current isn't too strong. Anyone know what the current is like with them releasing at 800cfs?

That's not much water. There will be decent current in the narrower areas, but you can definitely paddle upstream with that flow.
