What Rockhopper said is spot on. I've been in several aluminum CC boats and none are near as stable as my bass boat. Had a buddy in the boat last year who fishes exclusively from a CC Mako style and he couldn't stop commenting about how stable my boat was compared to his 18 ft. And he's about 6'2" and 240 lbs.

When I was looking a couple of years ago, the Xpress H18B caught my eye. On the computer, it looked better to me than the G3. That Ranger does look sweet though.

Bobcat, in all seriousness, I would build a boat and outfit it the way I wanted...consider the price between the two...judging from the info you provided (without total cost rigged out) I would lean towards the G3, it looks to have better standard features (less package upcharge) and a better standard trailer (boat will receive less trailering stress). coffee 2cents

Now, if I was seriously considerring buying a new boat (at our age), I would buy a deep V like that Lund that Cody has...BECAUSE it is really safe to relieve my self when I got to go...I can move around easily, plus it is a high and dry ride, not to mention you can get away with a shorter boat.... freak

Either way, its probably a tight decision and based on your preference for name recognition...In summary, I agree with the guy who said...Buy the Dealer.... rock

Sorry guys I was just messin with Bobby on buying my Lund. With my kiddos and wife that like to fish for catfish I couldn't get by with a bass boat. So I will have to stick with the Lund. Besides it is nearly paid off. Lol

Gonna be the Ranger. It will be White or Silver. Louisiana dealer trying hard to earn my business. I just a few more months like the last 2 and I can make it happen. Probably gonna order the boat with nothing but the boat and motor. Get my own batteries, trolling motor and graphs.
Now if the just right used boat appears then......poof

cheers congrats Bobby, can't wait to see your new boat! Which ever one you go with I know it'll be a fish catching machine

Test drive both in the worse possible weather conditions you would consider going out in. I have had 2 G3s and a Ranger but not center consoles like you are looking at. The G3s are a wet rough ride for sure especially on great duck hunting days.
