Bought a boat with 1198si at console and 997si at bow. I also have the MK trolling motor with ipilot. My 997 screen went out on me the other day so it's time to buy something else. Looking for advice on most bang for the buck set up to take advantage of the Ipilot link and I'd like at least 9" screen. With SI at console should I save the money and just get DI up front?

How about the Helix9? It is ethernet capable so you could use your ilink with both units and use your rear transducer for SI if you wanted. Were your units networked already?

Wayne, does that matter now? The 997 died, so he's getting something to replace it.....

Yes it matters if the two units are connected with the AS INTERLINK to share GPS data.
INTERLINK won't work with any new units or iPilot Link.

They are not connected. Previous owner bought the necessary items but never connected everything properly. I guess my question is more or less about side imaging up front for a weekend fisherman. I'm looking at the helix units as of now. I would like to have the availability to link everything up.
