I have fished it a few times in the spring "March" and have caught very few crappie. IMHO there are better creeks around JP.

A good creek with Bank access is walnut Creek. You can get there through Lloyd park.

If you're talking about the bridge at camp wisdom, your best bet is catfish and sunfish later in the spring. If you go up to the spillway, you can catch crappie sometimes along with catfish, white, yellow, and black bass, and sunfish. Oh yeah, it's also pretty fun catching drum. Be prepared to lose a ton of jigs on the rocks and have some days where you don't catch anything. It can be pretty fun when you figure it out and start nailing them. I've caught some pretty decent crappie there and had a lot of fun catching a whole bunch of small ones too.
