I was thinking about planning a float fish trip with my son this spring and was
wondering if it would be worth taking our yaks or would it work out better to just rent when get there? Any thoughts?

I would take your yaks...kinda middle of nowhere there and mot many places that rent quality yaks. Beautiful river to take the kiddos too...you might be able to put in at the slab and float down for whites. I asked if anyone is catching in the bank fishing section...400 views and almost no responses...that usually means the fish are there and biting!!

"Ahhh, yes yes...who has time? Then again, if we never take time, then how can we ever have time?"

I would love to do a float/fish/camp trip down the Llano. Supposedly the river holds gold too, and I would love to pan / sluice it on the way.

I dont know about the llano below the town. Above it, the town of castell has a shuttle but nothing worth renting. Junction has some good shuttles and descent rentals. Geuss I need to check out below. Sounds promising.

Kingsland Slab has some places to launch and you can fish down to Lake LBJ.

But if you take your yaks, you can put in at the Mason bridge and fish down to Raye Carrington's old place, or from there down to Castell. There's also Dos Rios, Hwy 103 and 104 crossings, etc.
