Power Pole or Talon, would you mount it port or starboard and why?

If only one the Talon. It does hold better in my opinion. Universal mania had good prices last time I checked. For me I would put on port side because I have lot of weight in tackle stored on starboard side. Power poles are good too

I'd wait until I could get 2 - seriously. 1 can be incredible annoying, if there's a breeze you just turn in a circle or wave back and forth.

I will have to deal with one for now, but will add another later when I can swing it. Just can't decide which side to put the single one on for now. It can't be more annoying than blowing right into or by the spot you want to pick apart. Most of my weight is on the Starboard side, but I try to keep it balanced as possible.

I would buy a Talon 12'(have 2 my self). I would put it on the port side to offset some of the weight if your fishing alone. 1 is still better than none in my opinion. Yes you will blow in circles if the wind is really bad. But you can still use your trolling motor to straiten back up.

And I have a Terrova that I can put on autopilot on the lowest speed that will keep the front pointed the direction I want it if necessary in the wind. I'm looking at a 12' Talon with the jackplate mount.
Thanks for the feedback!

I have an 8ft blade comes with everything including bracket/bolts to mount on jackplate! Works just fine only 2 years old asking $1500 or best offer!! Let's make a deal if you change your mind and go with a power pole

I bought my 2 12's at Shut Up And Fish. They were the cheapest at the time. I also saw in the bargain cave at Cabelas, they had jack plate mounts. You can talk them down on price there.

I like power poles and also would mount on port side for when fishing alone to balance out boat.

I only have one power pole and it's not that bad. Is it as good as 2? Probably not but it sure comes in handy and I use it a lot when frog fishing or working the banks.
I don't want two though and here is why. When fishing off shore a power pole can be a pain in the butt. I drag jigs and worms a lot of the time off shore and I'm always having to work around the power pole if the boat is moving out there, which it normally is if there is any wind. Two would be a real pain I think.
But if I didn't have a power pole, I would look at Talon. I love the idea of being able to anchor in as deep as 14'. And if I was off shore I could lay it down.

All good info and thanks for the offer on the 8' blade, unfortunately not long enough. Sounds like the Port side is kind of the consensus. Appreciate all the feedback!

Originally I had it on the port side. I put it there to balance the weight against my weight. It was hard to see the lights. When the bracket broke I put it on the starboard side. I like it there better.
