Hi all! I'm new to the forum and thought it would be a good place to come for some advice.
The bunk boards on my trailer need to be replaced. I am thinking about buying the already carpeted bunk boards from gander mt. or bass pro. Has anybody tried these and were they good quality?

I did my own, it was easy and cheap.

Go to Home Depot and get some treated boards and carpet and make your own. Some glue them and some use Monel staples. I just use regular staples and no glue and have never had a problem. Over the years I have made 4-5 sets.

Has anyone ever used the fiber fused engineered deck wood?

I didn't "replace" mine. But one day I had my buddy backing in my trailer and I was cruising in towards it and noticed a bunk board floating away! Lol. I had to fish it out and ratchet strap it in place. When I got home, I jacked the boat up off the trailer and simply flipped them front to back and used new boots to reattach them all. The wood wasn't rotted, but it allowed the cheap lag bolts to rust inside the wood since it held so much moisture.

My plan and thoughts were that if I used the engineered "wood", it would last longer. Then I'd drill and counter sink the bolts into the board. I'd use stainless bolts with stainless lock nuts and washers. I'd cover the boards with a different waterproof carpet.

I'll probably end up just building them myself. I just thought it would save me some time if the pre made ones would hold up. You can get them for not much more than you can build them.

And I had to do the same thing with a ratchet strap haha. I didn't have one with me but luckily a nice guy at the ramp saw what happened and loaned me one.

I have done this a couple times as well. I use glue and staples, but it is simple.
