Did some catfishing Friday night. Fishing in about 4' of water and caught 19 good eating cats. We fished one of the coves I like to duck hunt in and of course, it was full of ducks now. Seen more ducks Friday then the whole season. Fished again Saturday evening and only caught 2. Hopefully get some rain this week and next weekend looks to be nice again.

Glad you had some luck, the last 7-8 times I fished from the bank, Fox, Willis Creek, and Friendship, never got a bite.

I went back to using Sure Shot punch bait. Plus, fishing at night the cats come up in the shallows feeding. One night was good, the next only 2.

I went Friday night and caught 1 on punch bait by swim beach, Sat morning 2 more on cut shad. All were caught with Carolina rig on the bottom, about 4 foot also. Still got fish in the freezer from Buchanan so I released them. What type of rig are you using Yegua Cat?

I like the Carolina rig myself. 1oz no roll weight and a #4 treble hook. It works best for me. Swim beach should be picking up pretty quick. I figure the wind would have had them in that spot feeding.

Good catch Yegua. The shallow water on granger should be getting pretty good about now. Might have to check it out this weekend.

Thanks for the info Yegua. The fish I caught on Friday was at the Wilson Fox swim beach. Is the Friendship beach good also? The ones I got Sat were in the Willis creek channel, close to the main lake, on the north shore.

Hey Yegua! What Pro Angler rod do you recommend that I buy for bank fishing Granger? 7.5ft or 10ft? do you use no roll or egg sinkers?
(i only bank fish and use spinning rods)

Friendship side water seems to heat up faster this time of year. Plus deep water is right close by. So it starts a little bite earlier for the bite. Don't over look the bridge by Doppler. Seen some nice cats caught over there this time of year. Plus, you might hit some whites and crappie. Also on Friendship, that south wind rolls those shad up in the shallows and the blues are usually right with them. On the Wilson Fox side you have the north wind bringing in the current. I've never really had that much luck on a north wind.

I use a 10' rod with a Cabela's Salt Striker SS 80. Nice big reel with lots of cast distance. To me, the 10' rod helps get the bait out further. I use a 1 or 2 ounce no roll weights. The wind plays a big factor in the weight sizes. Egg weights seem to roll with the current where the no rolls stay put.

Jared might see you out there Sat. All plans are to be there.

Thanks again for the tips. I'm in a bright orange Epic center console, holler at me if you see me.

Hopefully going to Granger starting on Friday, if the weather allows it. Has anyone been there in the last week or so? Hows the action?
