The past week of fishing here in Galveston has been incredible. With water temps rising in Galveston Bay, we are beginning to see some great things taking place. The Galveston BaySnapper (sheepshead) are beginning start their annual move to their annual spawning grounds, and we are catching some monsters! Live shrimp freelined along the Galveston Jetty has been the number 1 go to. The North and South jetties are both holding fish, and tidal currents dictate which is best to fish at a given time. Last week, we landed three fish over 10 lbs. There are some Giants out there, and I see a new state record sheepshead in the not so distant future coming out of Galveston, Texas.

While we are fishing for the BaySnapper, we are also hooking into some Gator Speckled Trout that are always a pleasant surprise to add to the box. There are also good numbers of upper slot redfish along the tips of the jetties as well as some bulls that add to the excitement to a trip as we battle Big Time fish on lite tackle!

Bull Black Drum are biting as well, and this will last thru the month of April. Cracked blue crab are always the bait of choice, but can be a challenge to find at local bait stands this time of year. There are times I have to travel down the coast to buy enough for our upcoming trips.... but we do what we must to put our customers on the Fish!

Our Bay and Marsh trips are also doing good for slot reds, specks and some flounder have made their way back into the bayous and back lakes. This is a great trip for those looking for some shallow water fishing on some calm back lakes!

March is fast approaching, and if you want to get you or your family out on Galveston Bay or the jetties - give me a call or book online.
