Screw FC line man. Get some Copolymer line for your FC situations. It's just as strong, just as sensitive, and WAY WAY less brittle. That brittleness that gives sensitivity is also a killer, as you've seen. The guys who haven't have a heartbreak from FC will eventually. Over the last two years a number of touring pros have started to try to avoid FC whenever possible, solely because of the high breakoff possibility. And a sensitive rod will feel the vast majority of your bites, regardless of line.

I love fluro but i currently use a Trilene knot. I do lose lures every once in a while. Would it be worth switching to a palomar knot? Only if you know how to tie it correctly. If you tie the Palomar wrong with fluorocarbon your knot WILL break. What he said , I tied palomars and I noticed the tag end couldn't be broken under force , but the main line was so it looks like I zigged when I should have zagged!
