Looking to up grade my Trolling motor batteries. What are some good(but not too pricey)trolling motor batteries. I have a 24V 75lb thrust motor. I looked at Optima batteries but so many different numbers

I'm using deka batteries right now, and have been very pleased. This is the start of my 3rd year on the same 2. I've probably had my boat out 80 days or so on these batteries, still going strong! just charge them, and take care of them.

Everstarts. My last set went 6 years and this one is on the 3rd so far. Charge them after every use and they last a long time.

Interstates or the Everstarts would be two choices here. Those Trojans or Deka's are budget busters for what I think Chargerman1 is trying to accomplish. Just remember to use distilled water and check those cells.

The term "upgrade" can mean many different things to many people. For most, they think of upgrade for trolling motor batteries to mean more power to last longer. While getting maintenance free may be a "convenience upgrade" to you, it's not going to be a performance upgrade in that the stored energy capacity is less. Start comparing the Reserve Minutes for maintenance free batteries with conventional flooded cell batteries and you will see that you would be paying more for less.

Generally speaking, various battery features are trade-offs and a balancing act of sorts. To get one feature you trade off on another. Maintenance free batteries are an example. Yes, they exist, but they don't offer the same level of stored energy offered by more conventional battery technology. So, you get less power, and you must pay more for it. Personally I don't consider either of those attributes desirable; I want the most power I can get at the least cost per watt.

If you are wanting maintenance free to avoid the hassle of watering the batteries, there's a compromise alternative that can make battery electrolyte maintenance a lot less troublesome - a battery watering system. You still have to physically do something, but it's much simpler. The battery caps are permanently replaced with a small assembly that has tubing connected to it. THe assembly contains 6 valves that will close automatically as each cell's proper electrolyte level is reached. To service the battery, a tube with a primer bulb is temporarily connected once to each battery and distilled water is pumped into the battery with a few squeezes of the bulb. When the bulb gets firm, you're done and can move to the next battery. It is not necessary to touch or even see the battery when doing this.

Flow-Rite, a recognized supplier of livewell valve systems for bass boats, also makes battery watering systems for consumer use at reasonable prices. A system can be moved when new batteries are purchased, so they are a one-time purchase thing.

Yeh....but those batteries aren't blue. And they don't look cool. Haha
