I found 62 degree water in the back of creeks on Grapevine today. Is that the temp bass begin moving to spawn or have they begun to spawn already. I didn't catch anything. I believe the rate of release at the dam might be affecting the bite. Maybe even the spawn. What say the forum?

I think it's still a little bit early just because of the cold nights still but I'm sure they will move up soon enough.

What was the clarity? They don't spawn in dirt water unless there's no other option because their eggs won't get any sun.

I fished the cove near the Katie's Woods ramp today. Water was 56-57 and stained with under a foot visibility. Caught one on a crank bait but lost it. Had a few other bites but couldn't get any to commit. I market a lot of fish and noticed a lot of activity - I'd say it's getting really close.

BTW - the Katie's Woods high ramp is open. Although parking is limited since the gate to the lower ramp and parking is still closed.

I read several articles and this one seems to be more informative.

I know for crappie that this is one of the latest spawning lakes around. Not sure if the same goes for bass.
