Dating myself but ya in the late 70's/early 80's CC was covered up w/hydrilla. The water was amazingly clear and fishing was great. It got sprayed because it would get so thick in the coves that it would literally choke out entire coves making them unusable to the property owners. Some couldn't get their boats off lifts in their docks for entire summers. Property owners won. Another example of extreme "fixes" without attempting a balance.

I would've loved to have fished CC when it had hydrilla.

Not sure it was hydrilla, but the coon tail was thick and matted on the top. That's how Dr got his name, haven't seen that in 20 plus years.

Grass carp was the argument back then. TPWD did not know much about them. Put some in to stop the dock owners from complaining saying they could be managed. About 3 years later gone.

CC could definitely benefit from having more vegetation. Those fish are too small and too white. The bass almost look like sandbass out there.

Do grass carp spawn naturally? I thought someone said once they were infertile. If thats the case you'd think they'd die off and the grass might come back.
