hmm the lack of responses on both tawakoni threads makes me think maybe it's on fire right now.

We tried last weekend north of the bridge and did not catch a sandbass...
Catfish are biting...
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

As far as I know, there were two hybrids caught last Sunday each on different boats

Fish are up the tributaries, ways up, doing their procreation things. Just a wild guess. The bigger ones might stay in the lake and will start to feed aggressively when lake current grind to a halt. Spillway is almost dry now, so barring some rains, bites should start to pickup soon in main lake. Good luck fishin y'all.

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

We have not had a good trip in awhile to Tawakoni and there every week. We have switched lakes for awhile.

I went yesterday scouting. Pulled 3 striper in a couple hours by myself, one went 25 inches, deadsticking in 40 to 45 fow. Fish are very very scattered. Tried fishing some structure with sassys and jigs, but structure was empty. Would be nice to fast forward a few weeks!! Saw some guy in a big yellow boat that caught some on live bait

The sandies are in the creeks on Tawakoni. It has been many years since we have been able to chase them up the creeks but they are in them now for sure.

Haven't been down there all year; is Caddo Creek accessible by boat from the main lake or is the water level too low?

Or is Sabine below Tawakoni a better option?
