Yes,,,,,several times in the evening water temp near 60*.
Once in the early morning water temp 54*
fish would not bite for me.......all my spots were void of fish that wanted to eat.

Once again still makes me feel a little better about my boat still being in the shop

Two Saturdays ago: Secondary points leading to spawning areas, lite tx rig craw pattern soft plastics in green pumpkin or black and blue. Jig worked on hard bottom bare spots for a little better fish. IMO most of the fish we caught were males starting to move toward spawning areas. Had to cover lots of water and would catch two or three in one area.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

That is not typical Lake Athens fishing. You do that at any other lake. If you have to do that at Athens then the fish are not biting.
Good Athens fishing is constant 3-6 pound bass on every point with grass & if you know where to look the really nice 7-9 pounders.
Lets see how the small club tournaments do this weekend,,,,then we will know if it has turned on.
I give it 2 more weeks.

This is a concept I don't understand. Would someone on a map circle a secondary point on lake Athens?

Yes definitely smaller bite than we are used to out there even when it is slow. Also lots of just pick it up for a second and drop it!

See you on the lake and have a great day!

If you find a map of Athens let me know. There used to be one in the old Marina but I think it is gone & I have checked at AMWA and they do not have one available. Would be nice to have.
There arte some secondary points; I can think of 3 back behind Goat Island, 2 in Dinasour Cove, do you consider back under the bridge as main lake water ?,,,, if not then there are 4 back there. I can think of 4 more in the creek coves,,,,,,so yes there are plenty of secondary points......IMHO.

roflmao Come on Bruce, it's a public lake, not a private trophy bass pond. I think you are stretching a little here on Athens

non member $80 per team. One person must pay dues($30) and entry($25/person). Or $55 for one non member entry.
