I put a small strip of velcro on the inside top and bottom of mine. Holds well. have had to replace only once in 4 years.

first trip with my helix 10
found it laying in the floor of the boat!
2 years ago also learned not to hang talon remote over gear shift ---- was not lucky !

Maybe, My HDS 7 and 5 are/were tight enough, but my HDS 8 on a RAM Mount isn't. Interestingly enough, even though I lost it twice before I put a strap around it, it ended up in the driver seat or under the console on the floor!
