I fished JP from around 9:30 to 2 yesterday.. great day on the water. Water temp is 53-54 degrees, pretty stained and just about normal pool. With the warm days I thought they would be shallow.. not so! I didn't get bit anywhere shallow, and noticed the Walnut Creek channel is full of fish, all deeper than 25'.. some edges of the channel are just stacked with fish. I tried to drop shot them, carolina rig and jigging spoon with only 2 14"ers to show for it. I'm thinking about trying again Sunday morning before the front comes in, and will focus on deeper water, maybe deep cranks or something.

I fished yesterday as well...about the same time frame caught one 16 inch bass shallow...looked deep and shallow with no success...went to the south end and found some 56 degree water back in the coves...saw some fish out on some humps but could not get them to bite as well...I think it needs to be couple of degrees warmer before they move into pre-spawn..maybe next week..

I was out there yesterday as well. Missed one on a Carolina rig in about 15 FOW, and caught 1 small one off of a bridge corner. Tried shallow and deep also and could not get much going. Beautiful day though!

Gonna try again Sunday before the front comes through.. I'm thinking I'm going to go as shallow in the creek channel I can go until I stop seeing fish.. then turn around and fish out on the edge of the creek channel and see if anything bites. I'm thinking this full moon puts the Crappie on the bed.. but water is too cold for bass IMO.

JP is usually a little later timeline for fish to start the spring spawn schedule.

Two trips in the last two weeks without a nibble. It will get going soon--I hope.

There's a guy in here goes by the name Steve McQueen that is one of the best sticks on JP. Look him up and send him a PM. He's usually very helpful.

Fished today and managed a dink off two bites. Had a couple shallow fish earlier in the week and beat the bank all morning hoping they moved up. Not so yet.

I saw some break the surface early up shallow. Graph showed them deeper. Either way, I couldn't catch one.

would have been skunked today if it wasnt for the last hour catch a 6.
that is a 6 incher and that was it! the only nibble and bite. then if i dont look up and see a hawk with a bigger fish in its claw! he was just showing off.
