Could you use a oval split ring to insert in the worm, you could even get stainless steel

Maybe if I was trying to hit 15+ but I prefer the weight to be natural to the bait. Too many times I have seen where an unweighted wacky has been more productive then a weighted wacky. I think the slow fall/wiggle really improves the bite.

Could you use a oval split ring to insert in the worm, you could even get stainless steel Not enough weight with a split ring. I like to fish them deep at 15 to 25 ft. and I want the weight. There is no question that weightless has the fineness action. As far as the weighted hooks; I am not getting as many bites on them. The steel ring and smaller hook produces the bites; but the hook up ratio is poor. The long Crig., 5' leader will produce but still not as good as the real thing.

Well I made another attempt at it. I took the lead nail weight and drilled 2 little holes in the middle of it after I squeezed it in the vise to flatten it out on the sides some. Then I shot the senkos with it. For only 2 attempts at this I think it looks pretty good. I have another picture of it with a drop shot hook in the senko. I'll post it as well. I also took the lead nail weights after I drilled them and just put 2 coats of clear coat on them to maybe help with the possible color bleaching problem so we will see how that works out as well. What do you guys think?

Here's the picture with the hook in the senko through the hole in the weight.

Looks good; but I suspect the long nail will take away from the folding action of using it wacky style.

Ya I don't think it needs to be so long but it's what I had and I figured if the long one works then a shorter one would work for sure. I'll keep it up until I get it like I want it. I can be pretty hard headed at times.
