Wow Jason! Nice fish! Thank you for sharing your success and knowledge with everyone here. I've been hearing that the Thumper bite is ON in East Texas. Another customer sent this photo in on Sunday after he finished 2nd in a tourney on Palestine. He said he doesn't mind me sharing that he caught his entire bag of fish on the Thumper.

We caught 32 today with the majority coming on the Rayburn red thumper.

I bought a few of that color from Alex at the show in Hurst. Going to try them out Saturday on Palestine. Nice trailer! I was wondering what to use.

Jason, that is a HOG! For Christmas this year, I am going to ask for a trip with you! Then, I'll just have to find time to get down there.

Alex is right. The fish have started moving up shallow with all this warm weather. I saw water temps in the high 50's everywhere up north Thursday and Friday. We ended up with 42 fish over those two days. I sent a buddy of mine back in there yesterday and his kiddos had a ball. The majority of our fish were coming from 2-3' of water on Alex's thumpers. My best fish was right at 9# and came on the chart/white thumper. I lost one considerably bigger on the Rayburn red thumper. We also caught several on red traps and flipping black and red craws around the stumps. I hope this report helps everyone fishing this week.

What size have y'all been using

Jason is out of town today, so I'm not sure if he will be able to chime in. I think it really depends on the depth and how you want to fish. The 1/2 oz stays down better. If you want a really slow retrieve in water less than 3', go with the 3/8 oz. I personally prefer the 1/2 oz, because it stays down better. The 1 oz will be coming into play in March/April, but this time of the year and with the weather we've been having I'm throwing the 1/2 up shallow.
