I caught my first one in Lake Texoma about 2 years ago and became addicted. I catch a bunch up there but this is my personal best smallie. She weighed 5.25 on my scales. Smoked a jerkbait!

Nice fish! I haven't targeted smallies on Texoma in a long time. Might have to get back to it

Thanks guys. Brad they're eating the jerkbait but it is a marathon and not a sprint. Jerk/jerk pause...............jerk/jerk repeat. Pausing 10-15 seconds wears on you. In 10' of water all the way back to the boat. This one hit it on the pause of the last jerk/jerk just as I started to reel it in and cast again...short lined me. Probably looked like a Chinese fire drill on the front deck of the boat trying to keep her down, and get the net without falling out or big footing every rod up there..haha!

Had another guy tell me he caught a 7.5lb largemouth the same way 2 weeks ago he was at the boat with the jerkbait and could see it and all of the sudden the fish came out of no where and choked it.
