I found some lucky craft cranks in a box that hasn't been opened in years. Pulled them out and prepped them. The green is shallow, and the red is deeper.

Looks like you have the craw pattern dialed in to face the back, are you using any superglue or equivalent to make sure the eyes are stuf down good? Only thing I keep wondering is how long the eyes are going to stay on. Might be better to get you 2 different size stencils for eyes and paint them on. Just a suggestion if they don't stay attatched to the bait.

I've wondered about the eyes too. Only way to really know is to fish with them.
I times the red craw. It took an hour and 15 minutes. I don't use any stencils. I like that they are more organic and imperfect. Stencils would definitely make the process go faster.

don't loose that organic quality. nothing in nature is perfect. if you have the skill to freehand and get that result i would only use stencils if i had an order for multiples of the same pattern. you're right in that it would greatly decrease the time per lure but you would sacrifice the one of a kind uniqueness. brad will tell you this as well. we have both painted multiple baits for customers using stencils and they still pick apart the slight differences from lure to lure. makes you nuts.

I was thinking that if I sold them that they would come with a certificate of authenticity that would help explain that these are all unique--each one a piece of "art". Not that people still wouldn't complain about them not being identical. But you are right, that would drive me nuts, and make we not want to do it. It just seems if you want 2 identical baits that you would buy a strike king.

Both look great. I suspect if you tried to paint eyes they would look good.
