Fished River today for about 5 hours and it was Spring like weather. Caught 10-12 small bass shallow near marsh cuts and also near stumps or grass. Several were fat with eggs and hit black blue craw worms and also finesse worm. Caught one on WW after it came to surface chasing bait. Water temps were 61-62 and the river was fairly clear in some areas. Should get better by the day with this sunshine warming things up.

Good for you. I had a good evening on the Calcasieu Sunday, caught a few in shallow water on ledges close to the main river. I missed more than I caught, they were just mouthing the bait, I was throwing a baby brush hog. It was fun.

I love being retired, the check is in the mail.

Sounds like you had fun....I like them baby brush hogs! Where do you launch on the Calcasieu? I've only fished that river once many years ago, but did spend a day as a Marshal with Randy Howell on the Calcasieu in 2013.

Át the Moss Bluff ramp just off of hwy. 171. Sometime I go up river and sometime down. It is handy for me in the evening when I get off work at 4 or 5.
