in Bossier City is....there's a Hooter's next door to it. BPS advertised a rod/reel combo on sale for $99 so I drive for a little over an hour to get there and they only have 2 which are both left handed. The salesman says they have 150 more of that combo being delivered tomorrow. I said, you have the same rod and the same reel on the shelves, why can't you sell them to me for the same price as the combo and save me the long drive. Oh no, we cant do that! pfftt!
Sorry about the rant.

I've never failed to make something like that work in BPS. You just have to speak to the right manager and use the right approach. In fact, the two "combos" I bought last year were put together in the store on different days by the manager of the fishing department just for me as I looked on.

My parents actually asked me what was going on at BPS in Bossier this weekend, as there was no parking to be found in that place. Guess there was a run on gear.

I have not been a big fan of BPS at times but yesterday changed that. As I was buying a couple of reels and the combo mentioned above a nice customer relations rep shared with me how I could save a lot of money and increase my points through the "Triple Play" being offered right now.
Yes it took applying for the MasterCsrd but I went ahead about the Fortrex I was looking at. At the end of the day I bought $2200 worth of stuff and the bill was $1725. Plus I walked out with a $100 gift card, 2 $20 rebate slips an $80 rebate slip and an additional $50 worth of reward points and free TM installation up to $300.
The main thing was the rep walked me through everything, including special checkout, getting rebate receipts, customer pickup, etc.. The service was beyond what I have experienced before. Go see Jennifer and Grapevine BPS.

They can make combos in the store if they want to.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Yes sir, what a difference it makes having a salesperson that wants to help you. I was not that fortunate regrettably.

Jennifer needs to work at the Marine electronics section. Those boys back there can use the help. After 15 min of trying to figure out how to ring up my sales (over 2,000) I just took back my BPS card and walked out (empty handed). Emailed the company and have talked to customer service manager, still not enough for me to make that drive over there again. Newly Retired (me too) glad to hear you had a good experience. Like bush hog said, you gotta get the right salesperson to help.

That's the problem across the board with the break-down of our Service Economy. Those "right salespersons" are getting fewer and further between!

I contacted BPS and was told it was up to the store's discretion whether or not to build a combo off the shelf for someone. Evidently, the Bossier store won't do this. I don't dislike BPS, they are a bit high on some stuff but their selection is huge. I have bought from Tackle Warehouse in the past until my card got scanned and my account emptied. So, there's good and bad anywhere you go I reckon. I just thought BPS would have been a bit more accommodating. On the bright side, they saved me $100 on a rod/reel that I really didn't need.

If you want service at BPS to improve, let the managers know when you have a good service experience. Send them an email or write a letter, not just a phone call.

Does BPS charge more than places like TW? Yes, but I still spend some money at BPS because of their sponsorship of television shows I like, support of local groups like Boy Scouts who get the traded in rods/reels, and their positive impact on the local economy. And, well, Hooters.
