Hey everyone,
Just wanted to give a quick Lake Fork report for those of ya'll coming out soon. The weather looks great for the rest of the week and should make for some great fishing.
The lake level is currently at 402.28, which is about 3/4ths of a foot low. The water temp has ranged from 52-58 degrees depending where you are on the lake. Those temps are going to get higher this week with the warm weather we are experiencing.
The fishing has really picked up for me in the last few days and I expect it to just get better. I've been focusing on shallow flats with coontail or any kind of grass with ditches and creek channels running through them. The fish have been pushing up in the the warm, shallow water on these flats and seem to be moving around in pods. When we get a bite, i'll drop my power poles and really pick apart the area. It seems like whenever we catch one we are able to pick up a few more in the same 20-30 yard area.
Baits that have been working best for me have been red or gold lipless crankbaits, 3/8 & 1/2 oz black brown & amber Santone Rattlin jigs with a Smash Tech craw trailer in black neon, weightless black flukes and 1/2 ounce white and chartruse chatterbaits. This morning I was able to catch a couple of nice unders and some small slot fish on a mans baby -1 crankbait in fire tiger.
As the water gets warmer these fish will start to get up on the bank where you can catch them on wacky worms, texas rigged lizzards, 3/8 oz santone rattling jigs and santone swim jigs with a smash tech smash tail jr trailer.

This Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are my last 3 days I have available in February if you're looking to get out to enjoy this beautiful weather and catch some fish or are getting ready for a tournament. This is as good of a time as there is to catch a true giant on lake fork.
I also have plenty of March and April dates open.

Here are a few pictures from the other day. Good luck to everyone fishing this week and hope to see ya'll on the water.

Thanks,

Jay

Here is a nice one from yesterday that came out of less than a foot of water. The big girls are starting to really show up in numbers. Black neon smash tech baits smash craw.
