My 225 Optimax alarm is going off every couple minutes and gives 4 beeps. It started this at the lake and all I could do is idle back to the ramp. Everything I am finding online says it is either the oil sensor on engine oil reservoir or the float is stuck on the engine oil reservoir. Main tank is full of oil and my reservoir on engine is full. Anyone else ever have this problem and what fixed it? Thanks.

I had something similar happen to me a while back. I let my oil tank in the boat get low and it gummed up from sucking out of the bottom. It wouldn't fill the tank on the motor completely. It has to be filled ALL the way to the top to prevent alarm. Anyway I cleaned out tank and the filter inside the tank and everything has been good since.

Can be water detected in the fuel, low oil level, bad oil tank float or low battery voltage

Mine did that once and I had water in my fuel.

Had someone tell me to replace the oil sensor since the oil reservoir seems to be totally full,and the fuel water separating filter. Both are pretty cheap, so I'll try that and see if it fixes the problem. Thanks.

Mine did same thing 2 weeks ago and it was my fuel filter/water separator...changed it and no more issues.

If it not water in the fuel then t will be the oil tank itself. The float assembly is bad.

^^^ This. The sensor in the tank under the cowling has a habit of failing. When that happens, an entire new tank assembly is called for. I'm sure there's a sensor test to confirm or disprove that a tank sensor has failed, but I'm not up on what that is. I just know that failure is not uncommon.

Gotta watch the dip stick/chain on the oil tank too. My chain broke off and fell in the bottom of the tank restricting flow which gave me the same alarm. Had to have a whole new reservior put on.

Went ahead and dropped it off at Fun-N-Sun. I'm thinking it may be the float in the oil tank also. But there is just too many things that it could be for my limited knowledge. Lol
