Just wondering does anyone utilize side imaging on there trolling motors& what are the pro`s and Con`s? I know some of you guys use them on bigger boats in big water but I was thinking of using one on a smaller boat to target creek fish. noidea

Horace I use it on my Dargel & my 14' flat bottom, I'd be lost without it not really lost but I'd for sure miss it.....

With Humminbird Side Imaging, zero cons, all pros.
The size of the craft the unit is on is irrelevant.

I had one on the front of the boat for a while and found it didn't work well if you turn the shaft. The image would blurr and streak. Trolling along straight paths would be fine. 360 on a down imaging unit would be better in my opinion.

I use side imaging on my trolling motor with no issues. The only change you will need to make is to look at the screen before you adjust the foot and take off in a different direction.

I don't adjust my direction often if I'm looking for new brush piles.

SI will work on the trolling motor. I have it on mine. I will tell you that 99.9% of the time I have the bow unit on DI. It is just they way I fish. I simply find my structure/fish utilizing SI at the console mark a way-point and toss out a marker buoy. I then get on the trolling motor and bow unit. I head to my marker buoy and when I see the structure/fish show up on the bow unit in DI I simply mark another way-point check where I am in relation to my marker buoy and fish. If this is how you fish I would recommend saving some $$$$ and purchase a DI/GPS model for the bow/trolling motor.

David I have a HDS 9 up front and a 12 @ the Console of my Ranger Boat. I was thinking of adapting the side scan/imaging to a small bass buster type boat and was wondering how it would work chasing creek fish.

It will work well. I have a Helix 9 SI/GPS combo on my kayak.
