Hello all. I've read some recent threats where guys say they have had the bat(censored) scared out of them in a 14- 15ft boat on lewisville and Lavon during windy days. I don't plan to ever sit in the middle of the lake but i will drive through it if need be. The boat will be used for catching cats. Can you all give me some conditions in which this boat will not be good to go out in? In 59 the boat was designed as a roundabout to run the Colorado river. It's still a work in progress but I've cut open the bow to make it more fish friendly. Thanks!

Also would have a universal tilt and trim help with the handling.

Thanks Bobby. Guess I'll look into the two available and check the reviews. How much did the t&t set your motor back from the transom? Thanks

I got the cmc pt130. I would guess about 6" back. my boat is a 15' tri hull. Being able to adjust the bow on the fly made a world of difference. I still get beat up in rough water but is has made it much more comfortable and drier than before. I'll mever own another without tilt and trim

Cool deal. I always see those boats bouncing up and down while riding and would hate to be that guy without t&t. Anything to make the ride better is always good.

On Lewisville in that boat wind out of south or north sustained at 15 mph or more gets rough. I have run an 18 foot skeeter on that lake since 1996 have I gone out in those conditions yes not fun will I do it now NO it is not worth the pain. There are always places to go out of the wind ya just have to trailer to a different area. 2 foot swells and above do not a good day make.

Where's the like button... Thank you for taking the time to comment with detail. Sucks that Lewisville is that bad, because I'm right down the street from Peir121.

Glad to see this post. Thought I was being a worry wart by being a little leery when the wind gets about 15MPH. Started out in a 10ft aluminum V bottom and have graduated to a 16 1/2 fiberglass. I will stay home on windy days and not feel so bad now. Thanks.
Put the plug in.

No, I think it is good. Been out on some windy days in the fiberglass boat and not been overly comfortable. Now I realize it was for a good reason.

Cat 121 marina area is fishable on most any day it's my go to area when the wind is up. Every kind of fish live there and the fishing has always been fair to great. Cats, sandies, crappie, carp, perch, and bass. Over by the dock resteraunt you can throw a handful of bread and up to 40 pound carp come to the surface throw something floating white with a hook and hang on it,s rough and tough.
The area around Sneaky Petes (Towerbay boat launch) is usually fishable when the wind blows along with up north in the Little Elm area of the lake the creaks up here are usually good to great lots of cats too.

Thank you! I really appreciate the detail you've provided. I normally fish pier121 area from the bank. And having a boat would make it much better...
