Myself and Mike USMC-GY fished the trout stocking at the Blanco State Park. We had caught five trout and several Longear before the truck arrived. We fished from 7am till 12 noon. We ended up catching 14 trout and kept 10 for the frying pan. The Longear were released. Fish were caught on Berkley Trout Bait-Cheese colored,Gold Super Duper Lures,and corn. The Longear hit the corn and the Berkley Trout Bait. Fish were caught using a bottom technique with a slow retrieve. Wind played a big factor as far as the casting went. A great way to end the week catching a limit of Blanco River Rainbow Trout. It just don't get any better.

YEAHH! I think I'll go down to Herman brown to catch some trout for my dad. That's provided I'm not exhausted from catching those 5 feet long grass carp from McGovern lake haha. Do they bite lures? It would make sense that they don't since they're stocked and grew up on grain, if that's the case I'll use corn pops cereal, which works like carp boi lies and cost WAAYYYYY LESS

Thanks dcox 1911 for the reply. Trout bite on lures. Rooster Tails and gold Super Dupers work the best. Also you can try the Berkley Trout Bait-Cheese Colored.

I love fishing that river during the cooler months. Took my 3 sons and we did well a couple weeks back. Such a great resource to teach them the basics. Once it warms up, we will be back to good ol perch and bass fishing.
