They were advertising a new Johnny Morris 'titanium' reel w/trade in for $104 and matching Johnny Morris rod for an additional $105 w/trade in. Good deal ? Yes or No... They made the statement that this setup would normally retail for over $500 !!! Curious...haven't used any Johnny Morris equipment. God Bless Lee

Lee, I currently have 5 Pro Qualifiers and 4 JMX10"s , the 10's are about 3 yrs old they are the solid Silver ones I see the new ones are a different color, they seem to be a little bigger than Revos which I also have and having rather big hands they seem to fit better and have a better feel, I did have to adjust the magnets on the left side so the spool would spin easier ( I like my reels really loose), I use them for jigs(2),CR,Worm, have both 7.1.1 and 6.4.1 they seem to be pretty much bullet proof never had a problem, but I clean and oil all my reels in Jan. getting ready for fishin season.I really like them, also saw the add your talking about I may pick up a couple of new JMX's if the CEO,CFO,HMIC,(wife) will approve my purchase

The titanium 8 is a awesome reel, I picked one up a few weeks ago in their cranking model 5.3 gear ratio. I have been chunking a 10xd and other big cranks with it and it will absolutely throw them further than you want with the right rod. The reel is very smooth and I like the fact that they have the larger gear set.
My opinion the best deal they have going right now is the carbonlite combo for 99.97, I'm going to get 2 of them today. I'm thinking I'll pick up a 7'mh with a 6.3 year reel and a 7'3 mh with a 7.1 gear. I have been looking hard at the carbonlite and it almost half price for the combo right now. I don't think you can beat this combo for 100 bucks period.

They have a pro qualifier with a Johnny Morris rod on sale for $100 before trade-in. That would get my vote, although I'm sure the JM rod/reel is a step up. Either seem like a good value.

You can even buy a $7.39 Zebco 202 and trade that in if you don't want to trade in your better stuff. A BPS suggested that strategy to me last year.

I have 3 pro qualifiers, 2 citicas, 2 revos and my wife has 4 johhny morris. the only reels we have had problems with is the revos. my wife loves here johnny morris reels, they are light and she has landed plenty of good fish with them. I have used them a few times and have not found any problems with them. For me the revos don't seem to cast as well as the others.

Well ill keep buying bps stuff until it let me down, I have several reels that I have used for 10 plus years and have been used 2-3 times a week for that time period and I have never had to replace a part on them. I also have some curados and a few Garcia reels that have served me well. I just picked up my first lews reel this week got the new mach1 casting reel it feels great but figuring the price of it at 120 compared to a carbonlite combo for 100 I'll be buying the combos and will be very happy to have them.
I guess I'm missing out on what the 400-500 dollar combos can do for me, but mine catch plenty of fish and if I Drop 100 dollar combo in the lake it's a lot easier to stomach than loosing 500.

Decent reels at a good price. The "trade in" is simply a gimmick that has nothing to do with the price though.
