Last week I set out with 2 of my pals,
We fished the section below Granbury Lake.
Hooked into several species, although striper were our main target, I only caught one stripe, by hand.. very odd thing, he was making his was up a rapid under my yak, he slipped away. pic 1
We found schooling sandies about 1 mile downstream from the dam.
My buddies hooked up, I foul hooked a spotted gar.
While trolling I hooked into a buffalo, then worked a suspending jerk bait, 4' 6' feet lure in 8' of water, caught black and spotted bass.
Including the new CPR Water Body Record Spotted Bass.

My friends hooked into big sandies under the dam too, this dam is super trick to fish, very shallow with lots of rocks. And we had a killer 20mph wind blowing our lines and casts into the rocks. TOUGH DAY but we ended up on top.

We had private access to launch off Monticello Rd,
its the bridge 1.5 or so miles from the dam.
But you need private access to launch there, you can park by the dam and make sure you bring a cart, it is a long haul from there.
