Stress... I caught a Bass at Fork a few years ago wile Crappie fishing. On the scales in the boat she weighted 13.46. I though share-a-lunker I put her in the live well and immediately went to weigh her in. When I got to Minnow Bucket she only weighed 12.93. she had dumped her eggs in the livewell, the man at the store said she most likely got too stressed out and let them go. It was around this time of year and the spawn was not happening yet. So my guess is your big Crappie got stress out and let them go. However I do think it's gonna happen a little early this year.

Crappie have moved up from 19 ft to 11 ft in last two days on my private lake. They are in the same depth of water but are now suspended about 15 yes from 1-3 ft of water. Look out next week with the warm days. It's gonna be slip cork with a black/chartruese jig big time!

Yesterday me and buddy fished couple of hours in our regular spot in metroplex. Between both of us caught 20 + crappies. The biggest one 13.5" with full of eggs. We caugh all of them 4-6' deep

Not dropping eggs. That is not uncommmon with the stress the fish go through once caught and strung up or put in livewell. Does not mean they are spawning on you. It's like when you start catching male white bass on a spawn run up a creek, put them in a basket or live well and the stress causes them to releasse milt.
That is quite common this time of year, and of course they are not fertilizing anything in the livewell or stringer. They are getting close, but no cigar.

Hey SLW..That's good info, glad to see you post in the crappie section. You sure have lit a fire with the bass guys, as I was reading the thread I kept saying to myself,"I bet this guy could tell us something about catching some slabs to" please share some wisdom if you would. Glad to see your not totally sold out to the dark side...grin.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

that might be a pressure induced herniaated pre natel , hyper induced , the water done broke early vaginal breach.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
