I need some advise on the best setup and way to pull a tube. have little twin sisters that are 11 and want to hit the lake with me this summer. Running a triton TR-200 with a 225opti, tempest 25p prop, 12 inch hydro jack plate.
My questions are this:
Should i consider a 4 or 5 blade prop? if so, what pitch?
Should i run with the jack plate all the way down? up? why?
what speed do you guys tube at? i was thinking 18-22mph
I have the Y rope already. I know pleasure boaters and fisherman dont always get along, but id do anything for those girls and just want them to have some fun this summer! plus it beats them hanging out with those boys. Thanks for the advise and any other tips will be appreciated!

I use to tube a lot and the tow bar is a big improvement over the bridle. If not a tow bar than just tie on a clip and clip to one of the U bolts on the transom. I use to pull a slalom skier that preferred 50' of rope hooked directly to one U bolt. Tried it once with the tube with a longer rope and worked well. You lose control with a bridle but with young girls you may not be looking at putting them through high speed turns.

With your kids so young I wouldn't reprop.I don't have a jack plate and usually trim all the way down. I'm thinking until they get older you shouldn't have to trim up much if any. Just drop the bow down and teach the girls hand signals. Let them know what to expect if you do any turns. My daughter used to be afraid now she's driving the boat and trying to throw her dad. Which she usually does! Enjoy! Be safe

Find a 19 pitch prop just for tubing. It will get up quick and pull around 20 without lugging the motor. Sad to say but if you have to pull slow you might get better results with a whale tail or at least load the front of your boat with weight to operate at slow speeds.
