I don't know how a person could fish the Carrollton area or any where below Lewisville on the Trinity River with a kayak until they stop letting out 5,000 plus (CFS) cubic feet a second of water out of lake Lewisville. But maybe I'm stupid. Just saying

Not stupid. That water is FLOWING right now. Not safe even in a white water kayak as the river is flowing through a lot of low lying trees along the banks. Try hitting the Elm Fork above Lewisville, below Ray Roberts.

I had no idea I knew they were letting water out I thought I found a spot by the elm fork nature preserve but everyone's saying it's flooded or like yall said moving fast. I'm trying to find some nice rivers to fish from my yak around me. I live in little elm but I'll drive where ever.

Here is the water flow release report for the major TX waterways
http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/cgi-bin/rcshtml.pl?page=Reports&report=fish

I believe the Greenbelt Corridor on 380 is still closed
The Greenbelt on 428 is open but flooded steps to kayak ramp is completely covered last month with water and mud. and there's a $7 parking fee.
If you find an easy access point let me know
