Custom 7'10" slow heavy. Moves a lot of slack while allowing a big
Fish to surge. If you have one built make sure they put the lure keeper at the bottom of you do split grip. This really helps with long leaders.

Dobyns Extreme 784. It is 7 foot 8 inches long and a 4 power rod which is a great set up to give you a lot of distance with the C-rig. The tip loads up very well and the rod has plenty of backbone also. I use a 6-1 gear ratio Lews Super Duty, 20# Invizx main line and P-Line CXX 12# as my leader.

Before that rod I used a Kistler LTA 7foot 6 inch H action rod. It had a soft tip even though it is rated as a H action rod. It is also a good C-rig rod.

Before that I used a 7ft 6 inch Falcon low rider lizard dragger. It is a good rod if you are on a budget.

When I am ready to move to another spot I reel the weight up near the tip and use a rubber coated wire tie to hold the bait to the rod. (3 inch model)
https://www.niteize.com/product/Gear-Tie-3.asp

It also works great holding the wires of an A-rig together while moving to another spot on the lake.

Get them at Home Depot, online, or @ Reel time rods @ Popes Landing, Lake Fork.

I use the Dobyns Savvy Flippin' rod for C-rigs. 7'6" and H, but with a fast tip to it. It is a 6 power rod, so PLENTY of backbone and hefty feel to it. I would probably choose the If money were no object, I would go with the 804 C-rig Special Dobyns 804C rod. REALLY designed for C-rigging and a SWEET rod it is. Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I have several Dobyns that do the job with excellence. 734 & 735 models but for way less its hard to beat my Falcon Lowriders in the Lizard Dragger 1 model. If you regularly fish larger C-rig baits like big Brush Hogs or 10"-12" worms go with the Lizard Dragger 2 model. Excellent C-rig rods.

My sweet C-rig rod is a Dobyn's Champion Series Carolina Riggin Special, 804C. Also good for A-rigs and big flutter spoons. When I c-rig, I don't tend to do light weights, so this rod is a good fit for my use. I also have a 200 size reel on it for those super-long casts. Gear ratio gives 35 IPT so I can catch up to a fish running toward me.

Carolina honey med power.Has a great parabolic bend that is more forgiving when using braid. It loads really well when casting 1oz of tungsten way further than I need, plenty sensitive, and an easy short side snap does the job for a hookset.
