Looking for comments from you real fishermen on how you store/carry your lures &c.
Shortly after getting back into fishing a few years ago I got myself the biggest (Plano?) hip-roof tackle box I could get. Almost every time I go to an outdoors store, including Walmart, I buy myself a lure, hooks or something, spreading the financial pain over the years. I now have an overflowing tackle box, unbelieveable hook-to-split ring tangles every time I open it, and a large shopping bag nearly full of yet-unopened lure boxes. Open side-by-side with the wife's tackle box, the two of them take up the whole transom deck gunwale-to-gunwale, which causes a major space problem when we've got any of the Gkids with us. Looking for a better more-space-economical way to do it, if there is one. Are there other options besides a big canvas bag with plastic divider boxes in it?
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

I'm no pro but I don't have a "single tackle box" instead I have several plano 3700 boxes that I store in my boat and as I continue to expand I have separate boxes for jigs, lipless, square bills, terminal tackle etc.

Go to tackle warehouse. com. Look for storage on the left side of the page. Not sure what kind of boat you have. I use the Plano style box's in different sizes. I have some specialty crank bait boxes that help with the hook entanglement problems. I got a larger storage box with no dividers for a big lot of large worms I just got on ebay. Going to keep worms in their original packages. I have the traditional spinner bait box. Many options to select at tacklewarehouse.

Plano 3700's. Sort the box with the dividers to fit what baits you are putting in there. You buy several and then sort by the type of baits(top water, square bill, rattletraps, sort by soft plastics, sort by colors, etc.) Then you can get a large Cloth carry bag to put the individual boxes in. The advantage is you only pullout what you are fishing. Or leave certain boxes in the truck or in the garage. (Not many fish will come on Zara Spooks in Jan and Feb. Not many fish will come on Lizards in July and Aug.) Over time you will find the baits are kept in better shape, and can more readily be gotten when needed. I have over 20 of these in my Z9 and still have some that don't make every trip.
John K Fontenot Diapers and Politicians need to be changed often; and for the same reason.

Pick up some of these on sale for a heck of a deal if you have a BPS nearby. Their version of the Plano 3700's. Like others have said, much easier to organize with these. Here's a link. Use the arrow to get to the back cover on the bottom left.
