You might look at Lake Belton for some catfishing and crappie fishing.

Its tough on Belton if you don't have a boat. Ive been goin to school here and fishin the lake for almost two years now. Been able to find a few good sand bass spots over in the morgans point area. Still lookin for a good catfish spot.

For areas close to Ft. Hood look around and try to find you some bank access in the cowhouse branch. I am not familiar with this area so I cant point you to any specific places. Another good area, with a little farther drive would be around the 36 bridge area on the north end of the lake. Leona park, owl creek, and Iron Bridge park would all be good areas to try bankfishing.
