Picked up some very nice Bluegill and a limit of Rainbows fishing a river in the GREAT Southwest! No one around for miles. That morning it was COLD! Car thermometer registered 32 degrees. The Bluegill were caught holding by thick grass beds in 6 to 8 feet of water. The trout were holding by grass beds in water 2 to 4 feet deep. Gulp Corn Nibbles caught the Bluegill and Super Duper Lures nailed down the trout. The Bluegill were in the nine inch range, fat, and full of fight. They were released to fight again. Released some trout but kept a limit for the frying pan. Fishing the GREAT Southwest and catching some Bluegill and Rainbow Trout. It just don't get any better! fish

Thanks Curtis for the reply! cheers You should have a blast kayaking in the spring time. River is in GREAT SHAPE! coolio Have not caught any Guadalupe Bass on the Sabinal. I did catch a couple on the Nueces River this past summer. The Frio,Nueces, and Sabinal are in pretty good shape. Water is crystal clear with good current. thumb

Nice mess of Rainbows Chuck. That Great Southwest fishing has agreed with you. Been seeing some great post from there over the years. Good job.

Side Note: What is the best river to fish? Also is most of the property private?

Thanks Gitter for the reply. cheers Love all three rivers. Sabinal,Firo, and Nueces and West Nueces are FANTASTIC places to fish. coolio Public property is very hard to find in that area. police I know a couple of land owners and have permission on several spots where I can fish year around. partyon There are a couple of parks that have ample bank space where the public can fish year around. clap Also some of the river camps offer day passes to fish for around eight to ten dollars. Well worth it. thumb

Garner and Lost Maples were the two parks I located! Great knowing some land owners. Looking forward to seeing those great South West postings.
