Is my Helix 9 SI splash proof? I am talk more like shamu Splash and not little drizzle. This is where I would like to mount it...but it is not behind the windshield. I imagine it will take some good splashes from time to time.

It will be fine. As is typical for good marine electronics, that unit is IPX7 rated. This means it can withstand submersion in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes - far more of a risk of water ingress than you'll ever subject it to. Standard spray and splash are considered a normal operating environment for marine electronics. Even a casual fine spray rinse down won't be an issue, but I would not hit it with a hard stream from a hose. (Strong hose spray is never a good idea for electronics due to the pressure, which isn't present in on-water use.)

I did not have a windshield on my flatbottom and my electronics took plenty of spray over the years w/o any incident.

Yep you should be good, there's a YouTube of Doug v dropping his in the lake and still works. They are even supposed to float, I am not gonna purposely test that though
