Hello.

Has anyone fished these lakes over the last week? I was wondering how the water clarity and fishing was since the lake levels have come down after the large rains / flooding first of the year.

I haven't been there since the flooding first of the year. I'll be there at the end of week to check it out.

Lakes are close to full pool. Sandlin handled the flooding better than Cypress. Water a bit stained. All is ok. There is one stack running at Montecelo if I were trailering in I would go there. I had a great yr at Sandlin but seldom take my boat out.

Could use any help available on Cypress. Not tournament fishing.

fished cypress this weekend. water is still very muddy. about 1 foot visability everywhere I went. did not go to the damn so you might find some clearer water down there. I caught a few dragging a senko around SLOW. I would guess this weekend will be better with the warming trend. afternoon bite probably best...

This time of year the tire reefs is where I would fish. Throw a jig and drop shot. I also think with the full moon last weekend their may be some pre-spawners in some of the typical pre-spawn areas....and if you combine that with a warm few days it could be a lot of fun.

We fished Media tourney there this past Saturday 2/6, all but one of the top 5 places caught their fish shallow. They were not on the brush piles or tire reefs, but of course, this can change any day. All of our fish came on shakey heads. Hope this helps.

13.09 won, 13.07 2nd 9something to check. We had 3 for 7.15 but lost one around 4, that hurt haha. Rained the first 3 hours of the tourney and that mixed with the cold seemed to push the fish out of our areas. Covered a lot of water to put those 3 in the boat.

Headed to my place this weekend and look forward to trying; have not had my luck lately. Any suggestions?

Was out there for a few hours this evening once the wind died down. It was howling earlier today, 3 foot waves coming over my dock and retaining wall all day.
Caught 3 keepers; a 4 pounder, 3 pounder and 15"er and 2 small spots. Not terrible for only fishing for a little over an hour and mostly just going out to run a new prop. Bites I got were on a black neon flipping tube around isolated shallow wood that isn't visible at the current lake level. Took me a while to remember exactly where it was!
