Went down to the ole fishing hole Monday to see how the white bass action is progressing. The river is in good shape with the water clearing nicely. Fished for about an hour in one of the usually productive places and managed just four with two being nice large females. Talked to a couple gentlemen in a boat who had marginal success. I think they said they had caught six or so. They also said everyone they had talked to had very little success with most only catching one or two. So I suppose the run hasn't started in earnest yet here on the Angelina. Probably won't be long though. If anyone has a report on the Angelina please chime in.

They're not there in numbers yet, but they are there. Kept 21 last Friday. Of those 21, only 2 females. Very very slow presentation was what worked. Extremely light bite - almost like crappie. Give it a few weeks. A good rain wouldn't hurt.

The tram has been producing some fish. The run is just starting up!

Thanks for the reply CBoone and Ranger 188. I haven't been back since my initial report but will go sometime this week to give it another try. The Tram is where I went the other day. Usually have success there and sometimes Shawnee. Tried the Hwy 7 boat ramp last week and only caught 1. I suppose they aren't up that far yet in any numbers. Since I don't have a boat it's tough finding places to bank fish. Anyone know any other places on the Angelina near Nacogdoches to bank fish? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I can't wait for the run to get into full swing. I was out at the tram Sunday morning checking the water level and fishing. It was 28 degrees. Didn't catch a thing but had a few of the locals tell me they were killing the whites farther towards the lake but it shouldn't be too long before they show up in the creeks in full force. Last year we didn't even need to put the boat in. Caught limits from the boat ramp at the tram every time we went.
