I agree 100%. The 580G even impressed my optometrist. He refracted light through them and showed me that they were optically correct. He said polycarbonate lenses are rarely. I have blue mirror and green mirror. If I could have only one it would be the green mirror 580G.

Costa frames are not all the same size. Some models are for smaller heads, some for larger, etc. Be sure to get a frame that fits properly - their website has some info on which frames are what size, etc.

Academy usually has some fishing sunglasses that look similar to costas. They scratch kinda easy but I learn to look past that. They are also $10 so I'll buy like 5 pairs a year. If I don't lose them they'll usually last at least a year.

$10 glasses are not going to offer the optical quality of Costas, and they may be letting UV get through as well.

Protects my eyes from the sun, they're polorized, works good for me. There's no sense in paying $150 if you are worried about them getting scratched. If you're worried about them getting scratched then you probably ought to worry that you'll break them too.

Amen.... I have my "nice pair" that the wife paid $250 for with the blue mirrored glass lenses (580G) and my cheap $50 pair that they gave us at the Skeeter Owners tourney and I wear the cheapies. The glass lenses are just too heavy after a few days on the water and the amber plastic lenses seem to give me the same vision on the water without the pain or the sliding down my nose.

I won't go with the glass Costas anymore.

Sunglasses that slide down your nose are likely too big - meaning you bought the wrong frame. Costa frames come in 5 sizes I believe - each named model is a particular size. Step 1 that many people overlook is finding a frame that fits properly based on size. I've got 4 pair of 580G glasses, and non slip down. If I bought one or two sizes too big, I'd expect they would do just that.

Having looked at the website to learn which frame is what size, I found at the store that 75% of what was in the case was too large for my face, but there were some that fit so well that they glasses don't even move when I bend down....it was all about getting a proper fit, not just selecting a pair based on style.

The Costas I have fog up all the time. Ended up going back to my Strike King S11's.

I'd go with the 580G. I like the blue lens

Well, I went over to Fun-N-Sun and bought me a pair of Costa's with the the green 580G lenses. They are super clear but a little heavier, that's the part that will take some getting used to.
