I know it's probably been asked before but.... Is there a clear cut difference between the Costa glass lenses and plastic lenses?? Also which lense do you prefer the green mirror or blue mirror?

The glass is more scratch resistant, the plastic is more impact resistant. If you are a guy who religiously puts your glasses in a protective case you can probably get by with plastic just fine. If you are like me and just toss them in your center console to fend for themselves go with glass. The difference in clarity between the two is negligible in my opinion.

I like my glass ones for scratch resistance. Never had a problem with them and wouldn't trade them.

Go with the Glass, green mirror is the best for most sight fishing applications.. blue mirror is the best all around IMO.

The blue mirror is more of a gray shade and the green mirror is more amber. As stated above, the green mirror is better for sight fishing.

Wes I have 4 pair and I just use the blue for driving and green for everyday fishing both are 580G, I've had the plastic and they scratch really easy won't have another pair.

If impact is your primary concern, probably best to go with Poly's

Just ordered poly lenses in copper w/green mirror. Amber is no longer available and it was my favorite. This a prescription order. I have worn glasses my whole life,63 years old, and I cannot get used to the weight of glass lenses. This my 5th pair of Costas and I tried glass lenses on my 1st pair.

I received a $220 dollar pair of Oakleys with the green mirror lens as a gift from a friend recently and to be truthful I really prefer my $20 dollar berkleys with the plastic lenses from walmart. No noticeble difference in site, but hands down the berkleys are much lighter and more comfortable. With the berkleys sometimes after wearing them all day, they're so comfortable I forget that I have them on.

Not getting them for impact protection specifically, just wondering if they would turn into dangerous glass shards if an object hit them. I own a pair and have always wondered this.

Don't get WileyX. I bought some that were $200 and they scratch IN THE CASE! And they are hard to clean.

Also, wearing them while driving a vehicle is like being on a rainbow colored acid trip.

Negatives aside, they are great for fishing.

I have a pair that I really like, problem is the nose pieces come unglued and I have to send them in for warranty. I'm on pair number 3 now I believe, they do seem to scratch fairly easily too.
